大家晚上好。今天我在這里要講的就是5個(gè)如何毀滅夢(mèng)想的辦法:
1、相信一夜成名
你肯定聽(tīng)過(guò)這樣的故事: 一個(gè)技術(shù)男開(kāi)發(fā)了一個(gè)移動(dòng)應(yīng)用,并迅速轉(zhuǎn)賣(mài)賺了很多錢(qián)。這個(gè)故事可能是真的,但是很可能是不完整的。如果你深入研究就發(fā)現(xiàn),這個(gè)人在之前已經(jīng)開(kāi)發(fā)了30個(gè)應(yīng)用,他有相關(guān)的碩士和博士學(xué)歷,他研究這個(gè)領(lǐng)域已經(jīng)20年了。
這很有意思。我自己本身在巴西也是一個(gè)“一夜成名”的故事。我來(lái)自一個(gè)普通家庭,xx大學(xué)(MIT)申請(qǐng)截止日期兩個(gè)星期前,我開(kāi)始申請(qǐng)。哇啦,我被錄取了!人們可能認(rèn)為這是“一夜成名”,但是這背后是我17年來(lái)對(duì)生活和教育的執(zhí)著努力。
“一夜成名”總是你之前所有努力加起來(lái)的結(jié)果。
2、相信別人有你需要的答案
人們總是很樂(lè)意幫助,對(duì)嗎?各種各樣的人。你的家人、朋友、商業(yè)伙伴, 他們都覺(jué)得你應(yīng)該這樣或那樣做。“聽(tīng)我說(shuō),走這個(gè)管道。”但是你進(jìn)到里邊,你還需做出其他的選擇, 而你需要自己做出這些選擇。
沒(méi)有人能給你的人生提供完美的答案,你自己需要做出決定,對(duì)嗎?管道無(wú)窮無(wú)盡,你可能會(huì)磕到頭,這是這個(gè)過(guò)程的的一部分。
3、在一時(shí)的成功面前止步
第三點(diǎn)不太明顯但是很重要。你的生活很不錯(cuò),你組建的團(tuán)隊(duì)很棒。你們的收入持續(xù)增長(zhǎng),一切都很好――可以休息了。在我出版了我的第一本書(shū)之后,我非常努力在巴西到處宣傳。伴隨我的努力,超過(guò)300萬(wàn)人下載了這本書(shū), 超過(guò)5萬(wàn)人買(mǎi)了印刷版。當(dāng)我寫(xiě)續(xù)集的時(shí)候,影響力已經(jīng)得到保障,即使我只付出一點(diǎn)點(diǎn),銷(xiāo)售量也應(yīng)該還可以。但是“還可以”,是永遠(yuǎn)不夠的。
當(dāng)你朝著一個(gè)頂峰前進(jìn)的時(shí)候,你需要更加努力來(lái)找到另一個(gè)頂峰。也許如果我只付出一點(diǎn)點(diǎn),幾十萬(wàn)人會(huì)讀續(xù)集,這固然很棒,但是如果我付出前所未有的努力,我可以把這個(gè)數(shù)字推到幾百萬(wàn)。這就是為什么我決定把我的新書(shū)介紹到巴西的每一個(gè)州,我已經(jīng)能夠看到一個(gè)更高的頂峰。沒(méi)有時(shí)間止步。
4、相信錯(cuò)誤永遠(yuǎn)是別人的
第四點(diǎn)是非常重要的一點(diǎn)。我經(jīng)常聽(tīng)到人們說(shuō): “是的,我有過(guò)一個(gè)非常好的想法, 但是沒(méi)有有遠(yuǎn)見(jiàn)的投資者愿意投資。”“哦,我做了這個(gè)很棒的產(chǎn)品,但是市場(chǎng)太糟糕了,銷(xiāo)售情況不是很好。”或者,“我找不到人才,我的團(tuán)隊(duì)實(shí)在太差了。”
如果你有夢(mèng)想,讓夢(mèng)想實(shí)現(xiàn)是你的責(zé)任。是的,人才也許很難找,是的,市場(chǎng)也許很糟糕,但是如果沒(méi)有人愿意對(duì)你的想法進(jìn)行投資,如果沒(méi)有人買(mǎi)你的產(chǎn)品,這其中肯定是因?yàn)槟阕鲥e(cuò)了什么。肯定!你需要努力把你的夢(mèng)想變成現(xiàn)實(shí)。
沒(méi)有人可以一個(gè)人單獨(dú)實(shí)現(xiàn)夢(mèng)想, 但是如果你不努力實(shí)現(xiàn)它,那是你自己的錯(cuò)而非他人。你需要對(duì)你的夢(mèng)想負(fù)責(zé)。
5、相信只有夢(mèng)想本身是最重要的
最后一點(diǎn)也是非常重要的一點(diǎn)。我曾經(jīng)看到過(guò)一個(gè)廣告, 很多朋友在一起, 我們?cè)谂郎?這是一座很高的山,他們爬得很辛苦,你能看到他們汗流浹背很累,他們往上爬最終爬到了頂峰。當(dāng)然,他們決定慶祝,對(duì)嗎? 開(kāi)始慶祝,有人說(shuō) “耶!我們到啦,我們到達(dá)頂峰啦!”兩秒鐘以后,其中兩人互相看了看說(shuō):“那么,我們下山吧。”
人生不是關(guān)于目標(biāo)本身,而是關(guān)于旅程。當(dāng)然,你應(yīng)該享受目標(biāo)本身,但是人們往往覺(jué)得如果你有夢(mèng)想,而你實(shí)現(xiàn)夢(mèng)想的時(shí)候, 那是一個(gè)神奇的地方,那里被幸福環(huán)繞。但是夢(mèng)想實(shí)現(xiàn)的那一刻只是短暫的瞬間,而你的人生不是一瞬。真正實(shí)現(xiàn)所有夢(mèng)想的唯一辦法就是:盡情享受旅程的每一步。這是最好的辦法。
你的旅程很簡(jiǎn)單――它是由一步一步組成的。有的你會(huì)走得很順利,有的時(shí)候你也會(huì)被絆倒。如果很順利,那么慶祝吧,因?yàn)橛械娜说群芫貌拍軕c祝,如果被絆倒了,把它變成學(xué)習(xí)的機(jī)會(huì)。如果每一步都是用來(lái)學(xué)習(xí)或者慶祝,你肯定會(huì)享受這個(gè)旅程。
總結(jié)一下,5個(gè)辦法:相信一夜成名,相信別人有你需要的答案,相信在一時(shí)的成功面前應(yīng)該止步,相信錯(cuò)誤永遠(yuǎn)是別人的,相信只有目標(biāo)本身是重要的。相信我,如果你做了以上這些,你肯定能成功毀滅你的夢(mèng)想。

I dedicated the past two years to understanding how people achieve their dreams. When we think about the dreams we have, and the dent we want to leave in the universe, it is striking to see how big of an overlap there is between the dreams that we have and projects that never happen.
So I’m here to talk to you today about five ways how not to follow your dreams.
One: Believe in overnight success.
You know the story, right? The tech guy built a mobile app and sold it very fast for a lot of money. You know the story may seem real, but I bet it’s incomplete. If you go investigate further, the guy has done 30 apps before and he has done a master’s on the topic, a Ph.D. He has been working on the topic for 20 years.
This is really interesting. I myself have a story in Brazil that people think is an overnight success. I come from a humble family, and two weeks before the deadline to apply to MIT, I started the application process. And,
voila! I got in.People may think it’s an overnight success, but that only worked because for the 17 years prior to that I took life and education seriously. You overnight success story is always a result of everything you’ve done in your life through that moment.
Two: Believe someone else has the answers for you.
Constantly, people want to help out, right? All sorts of people: your family, your friends, your business partners, they all have opinions on which path you should take. “And let me tell you, go through this pipe.” But whenever you go inside, there are other ways you have to pick as well. And you need to make those decisions yourself.
No one else has the perfect answers for your life. And you need to keep picking those decisions, right? The pipes are infinite and you’re going to bump your head, and it’s a part of process.
Three: and it’s very subtle but very important.
Decide to settle when growth is guaranteed. So when your life is going great, you have put together a great team, and you have growing revenue and everything is set. Time to settle.
When I launched my first book, I worked really hard to distribute it everywhere in Brazil. With that over three million people downloaded it, over 50000 people bought physical copies. When I wrote a sequel, some impact was guaranteed. Even if I did little, sales would be okay. But okay is never okay. When you’re growing towards a peak, you need to work harder than ever and find yourself another peak. Maybe if I did little, a couple hundred thousand people would read it, and that’s great already. But if I work harder than ever, I can bring this number up to millions. That’s why I decided, with my new book to go to every single state of Brazil. And I can already see a higher peak. There’s no time to settle down.
Fourth tip, and that’s really important. Believe the fault is someone else’s.
I constantly see people saying, “Yes, I had this great idea, but no investor had the vision to invest.” “Oh, I created this great product, but the market is so bad, the sales didn’t go well.” or “I can’t find good talent, my team is so below expectations.”
If you have dreams, it’s your responsibility to make them happen. Yes, it may be hard to find talent. Yes, the market may be bad. But if no one invested in your idea, if no one brought your product, for sure, there is something there that is your fault.
Definitely. You need to get your dreams and make them happen. And no one achieved their goals alone. But if you didn’t make them happen, it’s your fault and no one else’s. Be responsible for your dreams.
And one last tip, and this one is really important as well. Believe that the
only things that matter are the dreams themselves. Once I saw an ad, and it was a lot of friends, there were going up a mountain, it was a very high mountain, and it was a lot of work. You could see that they were sweating and this was tough. And they were going up, and they finally made it to the peak. Of course, they decided to celebrate, right? “Yes! We made it, we’re at the top!” Two seconds later, one looks at the other and says, “Okay, let’s go down.”
Life is never about the goals themselves. Life is about the journey, yes you should enjoy the goals themselves, but people think that you have dreams, but people think that you have dreams and whenever you get to reaching one of those dreams, it’s a magical place where happiness will be all around, but achieving a dream is a momentary sensation, and your life is not.
The only way to really achieve all of your dreams is to fully enjoy every step of your journey. That is best way. And your journey is simple it’s made of steps. Some steps will be right on. Sometimes you will trip. If it’s right on, celebrate, because some people wait a lot to celebrate. And if you tripped, turn that into something to learn. If every step becomes something to learn or something to celebrate, you will for sure enjoy the journey.
So, five tips. Believe in overnight success. Believe someone else has the answers for you. Believe that when growth is guaranteed you should settle down. Believe the fault is someone else’s. And believe that only the goals themselves matter. Believe me, if you do that, you will destroy your dreams.
